Councillor Jeffrey Tucker, Group Leader of the Independent Residents on Havering Council, has endorsed the National Liberal Party candidate David Durant in Havering’s forthcoming Gooshays By-election (March 20th).
In a specially produced leaflet for the ward Councillor Tucker says to local voters “David Durant has supported me and my group in fighting to protect the council taxpayer and the borough’s local shops and communities. I urge you to make a difference to Harold Hill by voting for value for money and to defend Council Housing by voting David Durant”.
He is also appealing to those who voted for the Residents Association two years ago to switch to the NLP in the absence of an RA Candidate.
David Durant said “I’m delighted to accept Cllr. Tucker’s support and if elected i will work closely with his group who act as the real opposition to this Council Administration”.
