The Federation of Wholesale Distributors, as part of the all-year round MY SHOP IS YOUR SHOP

The campaign is based on the positive values of the owner-managed local shop and his/her unique interface with the local community, where the owner lives “over the shop” and shares the daily life of his neighbourhood. It aims to encourage the shopper to support their local independent retailer.

The campaign will be supported by the National Liberal Party (NLP)who will be running stalls and leafleting shoppers.

David Durant of the NLP said:-

“We must support the local trader or they will eventually die out. Then we will all have to shop out of town and community spirit will be eroded. Shoppers can show their support for local traders by paying an extra visit and spending an extra few pounds in their community shop”.
